Introduction to Meditation with Sadhanamurti

September 24, 2016

Sadhanamurti is an accredited Satyananda Yoga teacher with over 15 years teaching experience teaching group and private classes, courses and retreats. This immersive and experiential day retreat includes the theory and practice of several forms of meditation and Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation/pratyahara). There will also be preliminary asana and pranayama to remove tensions and prepare the body and mind for the practice of meditation.
A light lunch will be provided usually a one pot dish such as a yummy homemade dahl and rice, and we would like to invite you to bring something small to share with the group if you would like to. The lunch will be in lines with a sattvic diet i.e. restorative and energy giving food that does not cause the body and mind to be either too lethargic or over stimulated, in particular, no onions or garlic.

Sadhana’s 10 month residential training at the Bihar School of Yoga in India comprised of the academic study of yoga philosophy, yoga psychology and applied yogic science, alongside the practice of living a full time yogic lifestyle and application of karma yoga (meditation in action) and seva (attitude of service) to all activities undertaken.
She completed her teacher training at the Satyananda Yoga Academy in Australia where she lived for 14 months. Living and working as part of this community gave her the unique opportunity to deepen her practice and understanding of yoga and it’s practical application.
Essentially her classes and retreats aim to expand awareness and release tensions from the body and mind to liberate energy and move it from the confusing space of the head to the clarity of the Heart where this is Unity and Love.
