This short course will systematically introduce the participants to the essential foundations of fruitful, progressive and honest meditation practice. Some previous yoga experience will be beneficial.
Participants will need to attend all 3 days and commit to a regular guided home practice to fully appreciate and benefit from this course.
Meditation is an experience and this course will explore some of the techniques that can help us towards that experience. Specific techniques from the tantric tradition will be practiced to develop steadiness of body and mind, awareness and most importantly, self acceptance. We will also explore different avenues into the experience of meditation, such as pranayama or use of breath, yoga nidra, deep relaxation, mantra, use of sound and chanting and action; Karma yoga!
The basics of yoga psychology and the path of raja yoga will also be discussed.
The days will be conducted in a retreat style environment offering a varied and dynamic experience of the potential of yoga to develop each part of the personality and the mind.
By the end of the course participants can expect to have a regular meditation practice with which to continue their process of self development.
